3 Day Weekend Please!
I woke up this morning and wished with all my might that this was a 3 day weekend... Flag Day right? Sadly, no day off to celebrate Flag Day. Friday night we had a nice chill evening at home. Saturday morning we were up early to set up the yard sale and it was a great success! We had some stuff left over and some things we forgot to gather and it went so well we are going to do it again this weekend at Nancy's house to capture a whole other market we may have missed.
The boys went fishin' and Brutus got to hang out with us in the sunshine. The Pup Doctor told us to try to keep the splint as clean as possible and try not to get it wet so we have had to resort to putting a plastic bag on it to accomplish those goals because "staying off it" is an impossibility at this point. That dog has no fear and apparently no adverse feelings towards pain because he's running around on it like he was made that way.
Yesterday Ben and Brutus spent the day installing a new light at the homestead and I took the day to wash the floors and clean the house after the disaster that was the storage unit/ yard sale project. The house is finally back in order and then I took a trip to Waterville in the afternoon to donate some stuff to Good Will and it was such a beautiful day. If we could have an exact repeat of the awesomeness that was this weekend next weekend, I'll be the happiest gal around.
Brutus' improved condition has made it easier for me to not hover so much this week. I'm going to let him be at home this week in hopes that motivates him to actually stay off his leg. That means time to walk on my lunch breaks and I'm supplementing walks with Zumba so I don't feel quite so bad that I have to leave him at home. He can't Zumba that I know of yet so there is significantly less guilt.
I started this week off at 173lbs which is usually where I start the weekend off and then gain 3 pounds because the next week comes so I feel like I have a really fantastic opportunity to hit the 60's this week! We have auctions at the end of this week so I'm only going to have an opportunity to do 2 extra walks and I'm not sure if Thursday and Friday will allow time for a walk at all because I have to go in early and usually get out late. I love the overtime pay but it may mean that getting to the 60's may not come until next week but I'm so close! If I can make some good progress this week, repeat the awesome weekend and do extra walks all next week then I should be there and can start thinking about bringing Brutus for short walks the week after. These 4-6 weeks will fly by! Unfortunately I think that means so will summer...
