# Shark Week

It's shark week!! Sorry Snuffy, this is fantastic! It does NOT make me want to go swimming though...

I went grocery shopping tonight and I was very pleased when I looked at the conveyor belt. It looked like someone that eats healthfully. I even bought my first tomatillo! I plan to make some lip smackin' fajitas. Also on the meal plan for this fine first week of August is baked veggie ravioli and turkey tacos which are really pretty great. I dare even say that the ground turkey is actually better than beef. It has a better texture and is far less greasy. It is more tender and it really tastes the same due to the taco seasoning. We actually prefer that now!  I'm so thankful the love of my life has courage when it comes to trying new foods.

I just polled Ben and in the past 55 days, the food we've been eating is better more often than it was before. I feel like I have been making things worth talking about. That jambalaya was amazing. The Turkey sandwich with avocado, turkey bacon, and red onion was better than any other sandwich I've ever eaten. I can make good food without having to deep fry it...I still haven't had a full serving of french fries...  I enjoy cooking more now too. I incorporate new foods to try new flavors and it feels like an adventure. Taking that one cooking class was so incredibly helpful. I learned the most important principle of cooking meat in a skillet. Letting it heat up, then add your olive oil, then don't flip it until it naturally releases from the pan. I can't wait to see what I come up with next :)

I also bought skim milk for the first time in a long time. I don't really like it but the 1% has 30 more calories per serving. During this time when I am trying to make smart cuts, 30 calories per day at least, will amount to a big savings I think. I can get used to it.

And FUDGESICLES! I forgot how amazing they are and they are only 40 calories. Fricken sweet.

I could smell the first hint of fall in the air this morning on my walk and I basked in it. I can't wait to do my workouts this fall in the cool air. I can't wait to find amazing recipes for fall baking! I just can't wait for fall period. I have one month left of summer. Let's see how much I can lose!

Tonight entertainbit is the shark cam at the National Aquarium! See if you can spot Megalodon ;)
