The Honeymoon is Over!
So having never been married myself I can't speak to the actual phenomenon of the Honeymoon period but I don't think the idea is limited to marriages. It goes like this...
Being on a weight loss journey has to be a lot like a marriage. You have to be dedicated to it. You have to take the good with the bad. You have to be faithful to the commitment. You have to love it even when things aren't perfect. Otherwise it will be a miserable failure. All the times I've tried this before has been more like an affair than a marriage. I've always stopped to go back to my mediocre life because it was easy.
This time I am ready for the long haul though. The past 2 weeks have been pretty difficult and I've felt my motivation dwindling. The "newness" of this routine has worn off and now the bones of the hard work that is required is poking thorough. But just like a marriage I'm not going to throw in the towel because it isn't champagne and flowers everyday.
I need to find my spark again. The heat, not having my contacts, and lots of events keeping me busy has snuffed out the spark I had pretty good. It's been over a week since I've been to the gym for a class. I think I need to kick box again or find a new class to get into. I need to start getting creative with my workouts so that maybe I can recapture the "newness" and maintain it.
This journey has so many benefits and I'm doing it for so many different reasons. I hadn't expected one of those reasons to be practicing for marriage but I'll take it! If I can become a better person inside and out for this I will make a better spouse someday... and once I've hit my goal, I'd have fun trying on and picking out a wedding dress. <3

Day 35
200lbs
Love and Weightloss hurts so good
PS For tonight's entertainment tid-bit I've got to give a shout out to Anna Christine. She is a 10 year old girl who auditioned for America's Got Talent with a rendition of House of the Rising Sun that moved me to chills and tears. She's incredible and I can't wait to buy an album of hers someday. If it were up to me, she'd take up the whole thing. Check out her performance.
