Achieving a 150lb goal
If you're lucky enough in your lifetime to meet a person that shows immeasurable character, strength, and humanity make sure you take the time to recognize them for the hero that they are. That's what tonight's blog is about. My friend Leah Atwood is one of these amazing people. To say Leah has a heart of gold is the understatement of the century. She is one of the kindest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. She is funny, smart, and beautiful. She is down to Earth and she is full of life and keeps an overall positive outlook. She is an incredible listener and is the epitome of what a good, loyal friend should be. These characteristics alone make her an inspiration. What is even more amazing is that she set a goal for herself to lose 150lbs and SHE MET IT!
What I've been learning every day on this journey of mine is that this shit is hard. It is hard to stay dedicated. It is hard to motivate yourself. It's hard to push yourself enough to actually make progress. Becoming a healthy person with a healthy weight could be a full time job in itself. Knowing and experiencing all of this puts Leah's amazing success into perspective and catapults her into weight-loss ROCKSTARDOM in my book! Leah is an inspiration to me and she gives me the hope that I can achieve my goal. It is really helpful to have a role model to give this journey an even greater purpose. I want to honor the hard work, sweat, and pain that she poured into her own journey by doing the same.
We could all take a note from Leah's playbook. Whatever it is that you are trying to accomplish IS POSSIBLE! Nothing worth doing is supposed to be easy. You can't appreciate what comes easily. And you know what's more?? What is Leah doing now that she has met her goal? Setting a new one. She crosses the finish line and continues to rock the hell out her weight loss journey.
Thanks for being awesome Leah and showing this girl that believing in yourself is worth ever single sacrifice.

PS Tonight's extra tidbit is very inappropriate but definitely worth sharing. A news station reported incorrect names of the Asiana flight that crashed in San Francisco last week. This event was tragic and there is absolutely no excuse for this report but if you can get behind a little inappropriate dark humor watch the Report and then the Apology.
