Saying Goodbye

I have been at this "new life" for 21 days. I expect the time to fly by but I never expected the productivity my life would find in 3 weeks.

This evening I said goodbye to my old friend Huey. Huey was my 2007 Ford Focus that I got for an early graduation present from college. That car took me to my first and second job, saw the end of my first long term relationship and helped me see the East Coast. There will always be a piece of me in that car.

The new owners are a beautiful family from Belfast. I hope that Jessie and Ryan enjoy it as much as I have and I hope (with any luck) that their 1 year old daughter may learn to drive in it when she's old enough.

I think the sale of my first new car is symbolic of all the changes I've been making. In a few years when I can look back and see the path clearly I will have this blog to thank for my progress. You have to hold onto the things that make a difference in your life but then you have to let them go so you can usher in the better things that are just around the corner.

It has been 3 weeks since I have eaten sweets or fried food. I really don't miss it. Don't get me wrong I'm still one of those people that will rave about a good woopie pie but we've had 3 birthdays and 3 cakes at work over the past 21 days and I can proudly say I celebrated in spirit and not in sugar content. I've been to restaurants and I've picked anything but a french fry. I feel like I am killin' it! I also have worked out every weekday without fail even when it wasn't convenient.

On the start of week 3 I am about to be challenged. I've decided not to blog on the holiday this week but I will still do my workouts but I'll give myself holiday's off. I keep changing my workouts and so far I don't feel like I've gone through my cache of good workouts and I'm not bored. I like the routine and I'm settling into it nicely.

For today's Monday tasty recipe, I am including one I want to try but haven't yet. It's Vegetable Crepes though I think I'm going to use a garlic and herb wrap instead. I'm really excited to try the chive cream sauce. If you try it before I do, let me know how it is!
