Stair Amateur

So in case you're keeping score. Stairs 1. Katie 0. Between this injury, the heat, and my glasses I am beginning to feel like the proverbial man is trying to keep me down. My workouts have been suffering and my progress is coming to a stall quickly.
The good news is that I have my contacts back. My ankle is starting to feel better and the pain is subsiding thanks to some icing and wrap... Today was cooler and they say the heat is gone for a little bit.
I feel like August is going to be a much better month for me. This week's challenge was to find what exercises will make my ankle recover like new. I'll be tracing the alphabet in the air and doing a lot of crunches and lifting. This will be muscle tone week to give my ankle a chance to heal up.
The other important thing while nursing my ankle is to make sure I am eating well. I have some good habits started and I just have to keep myself from having a treat while I'm not burning as many calories as I have been. Otherwise I'm going to go in the opposite direction. Tonight I made salmon. I'm pretty proud of this actually. I learned how to make good fish in a skillet!
1. Heat your pan
2. Once pan is heated, add 2 tbs olive oil
3. Place fish in pan, skin side down.
4. Turn fish over, only after it is easy to move the fish in the pan. If is sticks, it isn't done yet. Turn the burner down a little if you feel like it will burn but don't try to turn the meat if it is still sticking. It will release when it's done, I promise.
5. Flip fish and cook until it is easy to move in the pan again. Try this and have a little faith in this. I was skeptical but it really will release if you follow those steps in that exact order.
So what's on my workout agenda for tomorrow? Not the Stair Master, because I am a stair amateur.
