My New Workout Buddy don't Dance...
Something had to change. When your workouts feel lonely that can't be good. A huge shout out to Holly Rae for keeping me company through texts and support and to Lindsey for reaching out to me and to everyone else that so kindly offered ways to help me out of my lonely workouts. The truth is, no substitute beats a walk buddy that doesn't care if I also listen to my book when we walk. Those are special walk buddies and I am so proud to announce that I have found one.
Ladies and gentlemen may I proudly introduce Brutus. He's a Pulldog (Pug/Bulldog), only 3 months old and already the love of my life... Sorry Ben, you're a very close second (you don't walk with me remember.. that's how he edged you out....).
You know that you've made a sound decision when you're not even a little bit irritated when you have to get up at 3:30am for an outside pee break, pick up poop, and continually clean the carpet when accidents happen. Housebreaking a pup truly is the test of whether or not you were meant to be a dog-parent. He is such a good dog and pardon me because I might break into a boastful, annoying rant about this guy because I have waited a really long time for this. I've been waiting for a dog longer than I've been waiting for an engagement ring and that says something significant! :)
This morning we went for our first walk on my traditional route. He kept up really well, never barked at the dogs barking at him, only pooped on two lawns that weren't his and stayed at my heel for the entire walk. I haven't had a lot of experience with puppies but from what I do know, he isn't showing signs of traditional puppy behavior. So far he seems receptive to training and really makes an excellent walk companion.
In my last few posts I've been too lazy or beat to figure out what day I'm on but this guy has revolutionized my routine. In honor of him completely changing my life, today is Trouble with the Curvy: Day 1 A.B. (after Brutus).
Together we have each already lost a pound.. for me it was of weight and for him it was the dog pound.
