Ain't Got Room for Boring
I spoke yesterday of "my new life." I can't stress enough how much I really mean that my whole changed overnight. It has changed for the better for sure but it really amazes me how much my habits have changed so fast. Ever since I got back from vacation I have been little miss lazy bones... and if I'm being honest even before then I had a way of talking myself into laying in bed longer, skipping a workout, justifying food that's bad for me, and other things that made me 212lbs to begin with. My days staying in bed longer and skipping workouts out of laziness are officially over thanks to Brutus.
I also had this habit of over-thinking every little thing and working myself up to the point of frenzy. It is no secret that I'm a little neurotic but I think Brutus is even making a difference there. I am generally the kind of person that has to have my house clean before I can relax... to the point that I can be really annoying and get irritated if little things are out of place. As any dog owner will tell you, that kind of mentality is not a good match for getting a pup because they are messy. I knew this though and I knew that cleanliness to my usual standards was going to wear me out way to fast if I tried to keep up with them.
Brutus just doesn't have room for boring in his life and I have to keep up. Tonight on our walk he decided to pick up the pace for the first time which made me run to keep up with him. This morning on our walk he suggested I carry him up the hill... a little cardio a little weight training.. a little potty training... we are a great family and I love this.
I am tired though... I think that is just something else that comes with the territory... That is, according to the Muppets, what happens when you ain't for room for boring....
