Mixed Emotions
I have been in an extremely good mood since last Saturday. There is something about feeling this ring on my finger that has changed something in me. It is a validation of love that I knew was there but never had a tangible reminder other than the swelling of my heart and sometimes that can be drowned out with other more immediate emotions like irritation, frustration, and being overwhelmed. Today is the first day though that anything else has cut through.
Several other little things have happened since Saturday that are now starting to culminate in hopes of killing this amazing high I've been on. The first of these things was that my computer crashed. The one that has the only version of Photoshop on it that I own that also happens to be so far out of date that I can't even load Chrome onto it.
Second, on Monday I realized that one of my contacts had a hole in it. I had a back up pair so I wasn't too frazzled about it but it definitely made the list. This was the second contact that I had this issue with and knew I had to call my doctor to see if I could get a replacement because they are $50 PER LENS and I figured they were just defective.
Third, my house is a complete disaster right now with so much dirt on the floor it could be a sandbox. A trash run is badly needed and it doesn't matter how hard I try, there seems to constantly be 12 loads of laundry that need to be done.
Fourth on the list is that I've really been working my tail off this week trying to get that elusive 6 to show up when I weight myself and despite what I felt were my very best efforts it just hadn't happened.
Continuing with this trend. last night it rained like hell and I overcame the beckoning couch and cute boys (one furry and one just gorgeously human) and went to Zumba. Often when I Zumba my contacts will dry out and get a bit blurry but they always settle back and everything is cool. Last night though I couldn't seem to get the left one to get back to the sweet spot.. you know... where I can see clearly as there really is only one position in which a contact will focus your vision. I took it out when I got home and just didn't think about it (thanks to the dirt and disaster area previously mentioned.)
This morning I went to put my contacts in and it felt like there was something on it (sometimes there is a hair or something but its easily removed with solution..) When I took it out to clean it I noticed there was a rip in it just like the one the day before but this one was much bigger! I promptly put it in a case with the 2 others that are defective and put in my last fresh contact. After working for about an hour I noticed it still felt like something was on my contact and was making my eye irritated and I finally decided to go home to get my glasses. I called the doctor and was told that they were waiting for me to bring them in before ordering new ones and because no one called me I had no idea this was expected so I had to drive up to Pittsfield to drop them off killing my lunch break and eliminating a nice walk I could have had today.
Now my eye hurts and I'm paranoid that another one is going to rip in my eye or damaged my eye when it ripped in my eye last night! The good news? This morning I weighed in at 169.8lbs but somehow amid my vision disasters I couldn't fully appreciate it. I also am not really looking forward to a walk tonight with my glasses because they slide down my nose when my face sweats and it drives me insane.
I have so much to celebrate this weekend and I feel the dark parts of the universe trying to f@#$ with me and I refuse to let it work but it does make me stop, look around, and think "Seriously?" Murphy's Law I suppose...

I'd roll my eyes at the stupid events described above but it hurts too much :(
